The HAC, or Haut à Courroies, is the bag the Birkin was built from. Originally designed in 1892 for equestrians to carry their boots and saddles, it predates the Birkin by nearly a century and remains the rarer of the two. The 40cm format is the modern continuation of that lineage, taller than wide, deeper than a standard Birkin 40, and produced in a fraction of the volume.

Black Togo is the most durable and the most discreet leather Hermès offers, and the combination with brushed palladium hardware is the most quietly powerful spec in the canon. A piece that is recognised by everyone who needs to recognise it and ignored by everyone else.

Comes complete with dust bag, box, ribbon, rain protector, lock, keys, clochette, felt, and CITES certificate where applicable. Sourced through our Hermès network and delivered untouched.
